About us

Established in January 2012

The JuditSingers

is a mixed choir based in Daventry, Northamptonshire. We are a non-profitmaking organisation providing an opportunity for members of Daventry and district community to take part in group singing.  We perform regular public concerts and proceeds are normally donated to local or national charities.

We are The JuditSingers

Pictured left are the two founder members, Ruth and Sue.  At the present time we have a membership of 36 and the ages range from 17 to over 80!.  We recognise the health and social well being that group singing brings to the individual and wider community and our members testify to this.

The choir has a new recruitment policy which describes how members may join.  We offer all newcomers one or more free taster sessions so that they can experience a rehearsal and get to meet the group.

Ideally, potential members will have some musical knowledge, be able to sing in tune and contribute positively to the balance of existing voices.  We do not discriminate against race, religion, sexual orientation or age or any other minority group.

Judit Felszeghy

Judit has led the choir since it started  over 8 years ago. She has been an inspiration and our singers have grown in confidence, skills and knowledge. Her enthusiasm and encouragement has led to many successful concerts and her solo contributions have been beautiful and enjoyed by all our audiences. Many of the choir members have joined her in singing trips abroad which she organised. It was fantastic to sing in different settings hosted by various festivals and choirs. Altogether a wonderful experience.

As with all choirs the pandemic stopped us meeting and singing together and over the last 18 months life has moved on. Judit has moved home and has a busy, full life. So when we restart in September ( hopefully) sadly she will not be leading the choir.

We wish her every success in the future and thank her from the bottom of our hearts for all she gave to the choir and its members.
